CDR Frank Maugans, SC, USN (Ret.), passed away on May 5, 1998. He retired from the Navy in 1996. His ashes were held for a joint inurnment with his wife, Captain Katharine Allen Maugans USN (Ret.) She died September 7, 2010. Born September 23, 1926 in Alexandria, VA, she served as an officer in the United States Navy for 30 years. Alumna and life-long supporter of Longwood University. Resident of Vinson Hall for 15 years. Inurnment was January 7, 2011 at Arlington National Cemetery. A biography was written about grand aunt Kak as a school project by Brennan A. Allen.
